Modern agriculture demands efficiency, productivity and innovation. The 3rd generation Mainero MDD-200 IRT headers exemplifies these qualities. This generation of the MDD-200 features Mainero’s traditional narrow snouts & double offset sprockets enabling it to harvest any direction & any row spacing — and now comes exclusively with IRT rollers. These Intermeshing, Reversible, Toothed rollers are designed specifically for U.S. growers and harvesting conditions.
The MDD-200 has a simple oil bath, self-tensioning chain drive on each side of the header operating the row units. The IRT rollers and scrapers are both reversible — doubling lifespan and easing service. Row unit clutches are preloaded and non-adjustable; stalk roll bearings are maintenance-free — no daily greasing.
The MDD-200 is an all-steel construction, the only corn head on the market built this way. The cross auger has reinforced double-thick flighting at the feeder house, providing low maintenance and long operating life.
The MDD-200 allows growers to harvest any row spacing, any direction and in any conditions. High moisture or dry, standing, leaning or completely down, the narrow snout design and double offset sprockets provide a wide row unit opening. This combined with the IRT rollers allow this header to perform consistently across various conditions.
All 3rd generation MDD-200 headers are Headsight ready with pre-drilled holes to provide protection from the elements for sensor wiring. Side augers are standard with mechanical drive and shear-pin protection — pulling in falling or down crop at the edges. Hydraulically adjustable deck plates with a cab-visible position indicator. Pivoting, spring-loaded snout tips self-adjust for the best angle to the ground.
The IRT rollers were designed specifically for US growers and US harvest conditions. Serrated ¼ inch, hardened blades create an aggressive crimping action multiple times while pulling the stalk down. The blades are flippable and bolted to the shaft — flip once to double lifespan. This reduces MOG reaching the combine, cuts horsepower consumption, and leaves residue that decomposes quicker for no till operations & contributes to a better tillage result.
The MDD-200 IRT row independent model is based on a 20-inch (508 mm) row unit that comes in 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 or 22 row configurations — spanning working widths from 20′ to 33′. Mainero also offers the MDD-200 IRT in a 30-inch row unit header in 8 and 12 row configurations. These 30-inch headers share the same engineering design such as double offset sprockets, narrow snouts, IRT rollers, a reinforced cross auger at the feeder house, and an all-steel build.
